SAME Young Professionals are active members 39 and younger. The Savannah Post’s Young Professionals Committee helps early-career members build their skills, their network, and lasting mentoring relationships with the Post’s Fellows and senior members, and brings more YPs into Society events at the local and national level.

Whether you are in uniform, at USACE or another agency, or with an A/E/C firm, this is the fastest way to know the people you will work with for the rest of your career.

Fall YP Event at Broughton Street Bowl and Brew, 129 E. Broughton Street, 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Bowling, food, drinks, and networking with young professionals from across the Savannah area.

How we do it

Serve
Give back alongside your peers. Past service days include our annual Operation Homefront Holiday Meals for military families, and YPs help run Post events like the Annual Program Review.
Learn
Evening deep dives with USACE and NAVFAC leaders, professional development at Post meetings, and mentoring from the Post’s Fellows and senior members.
Meet
Social and networking events built for early-career professionals, where government and industry YPs get to know each other before they work together.

What SAME offers young professionals

Discounted dues
Young Professional rates for members 39 and younger. Full-time students 25 and younger join free.
Credentials
National’s Credentialing Assistance Program helps with approved exam and study costs, plus free credentialing review courses.
Conferences
YP networking events and travel subsidies for national conferences such as JETC and the Small Business Conference.
A national peer network
The SAME Young Professionals Council hosts a monthly member call and national webinars, and recruits YPs as mentors for SAME’s STEM camps.

SAME National rates effective January 1, 2026. Membership includes up to three Posts; select the Savannah Post when you join.
